COOPERATION AND EXCHANGE

The college actively carries out academic exchanges and cooperation, and has built long-term and stable cooperative relations with many research institutes at home and abroad. The laboratory has established stable scientific research cooperation relationships with the Institute of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of Kyoto University in Japan, the National Laboratory of Wind Erosion Research at USDA-ARS Wind Erosion, the City University of Hong Kong, and the cultural relics protection institutions of the United States and the United Kingdom. It also conducts various forms of cooperation with the Cold and Arid Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Lanzhou Institute of Geology of the Chinese Academy of Science, the National Key Laboratory of Glacier and Frozen Soil Engineering, the Northwest Branch of China Railway Institute, the Landslide Research Institute in Gansu, the Chengdu Institute of Mountain Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Engineering Mechanics of the State Seismological Bureau, the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and domestic research institutions such as Peking University. Making full use of the multidisciplinary development advantages of comprehensive universities, the laboratory also engages in substantive cooperation with the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the College of Earth and Environmental Science, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Physical Science and Technology and the High-performance Computing Center of Engineering and Science. The researchers of the laboratory have participated in more than 851 academic conferences at home and abroad. More than 170 scholars from home and abroad have been invited to give lectures in the laboratory, including more than 30 academicians of the two academies.
