Recently, the Colleges and Universities Teaching Guiding Committee of the Ministry of Education of 2018-2022 was formally established. Thirty-one experts from Lanzhou University were elected as the chairmen of committee, vice chairmen of committee, secretary-general and committee members of 30 professional committees. Professor Wang Xingzhe and Chen Wenwu of the College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics were elected respectively as members of the Teaching Guiding Committee of Mechanics and Geology.
It is reported that the new Teaching Guiding Committee has elected 5,550 members, including 111 chairmen of committee and 710 vice chairman of committee. Among the members, 3,611 are new members, accounting for two-thirds of the total members. Based on the principle of 'high teaching ability and high academic achievement', the new Teaching Guiding Committee will become an elite group to comprehensively revitalize undergraduate education, and to undertake the work of research, consulting, guidance, evaluation and service of education and teaching in higher education. The chairmen of committee of newly established 111 Teaching Guiding Committees (excluding sub-committees) attended the meeting. All the vice chairmen of committee, the chairmen of the sub-committees, the secretary-general and some committee members participated the meeting without voting rights .
